We had the pleasure of coordinating Stephanie and Patrick's wedding day at the romantic Canlis Restaurant in Seattle, Washington. Taking place in the Penthouse Suite of the restaurant, Stephanie and Patrick's wedding began an hour prior to sunset, allowing guests to arrive and view the gorgeous views of Lake Union prior to the room entering a romantic shade of darkness. With a live pianist and each table named after a location in which the couple has lived, there was a personal touch to every corner of the upstairs at Canlis.
One element displayed throughout such elegant decor was the playful use of puzzle pieces - from the cake, to the guestbook, down to the custom puzzle piece cookie party favors, Patrick was big on infusing their proposal story throughout the wedding day.
When Patrick proposed, Stephanie and he put together a puzzle of a photo of them one evening. As they neared completion, Patrick withheld the last final piece - Stephanie's left hand. As they began looking for the last piece, Patrick got down on knee to present a gorgeous engagement ring - the rest is history!
Both Stephanie and Patrick's family was a pleasure to meet. The ceremony was non-traditional: standing, no aisle, two little flower girls with an immediate cake cutting after the "I do's". It was elegant. It was intimate. And the food, of course, was beyond delicious.
The owner of Canlis even walked upstairs to congratulate the newly wed couple!
Thank you Stephanie and Patrick for allowing Cake & Lace Seattle to plan your special day.
